Raleigh, North Carolina, January 1, 2017 – Horizon Forest Products, a leading distributor of hardwood flooring and supplies, donated funds towards the purchase of a truck for Build The Village Orphanage, is an organization that serves the needs of children in a small village in Kenya. The truck will facilitate essential operations for the organization, which was in desperate need of a reliable vehicle. This donation is part of several corporate responsibility initiatives for Horizon Forest Products.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the orphanage, Damon Davenport expressed his gratitude for the generous gesture. He said that the donation was timely because the previous vehicle was in disrepair and getting new transportation was a critical priority. Build the Village is actively involved in outreach programs to orphans, widows, victims of war, and those who are suffering from AIDS and childhood diseases. The need is overwhelming, yet the organization strives to give even the most helpless a sense of hope.
David Williams, Vice President for Horizon Forest Products said, “As a company, we have been very blessed. We have a strong desire to support organizations like Build the Village, and this was a way we could assist them with an immediate need. The needs of these organizations are huge and we are fortunate to be able to help. Build the Village has come a long way in just a few years, and we are pleased to have the opportunity to provide our support.”
