Charleston, SC - Delivery Driver with Class B CDL

About the Job:     A hardwood distributor in the Charleston, SC area is looking for a delivery driver to make local deliveries from our local distribution facility.

Job Title:  Delivery Driver (Class B CDL)

Purpose:  To deliver and unload by hand hardwood flooring and other materials to customer jobsites or places of business while fulfilling the duties listed below.

  • Must be able to lift and carry 75 pounds or more repetitively.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and random drug tests
  • Perform a daily pre trip inspection of the truck, alerting the Ops Manager to maintenance, damage, or mechanical issues. Maintain log books and other documentation as set forth by either the DOT or Horizon Forest Products (HFP)
  • Check truck to ensure that the proper materials have been loaded and are loaded in a safe manner. Drivers may be asked to load trucks. Strap the load down to make sure it is immobile during transit.
  • Safely drive the truck to delivery sites following the route indicated by the Ops Manager.
  • Once at the site unload the order in accordance with the customer’s needs and the safety protocols of HFP. Hand loading will be mostly required with job site deliveries.
  • Represent HFP with courtesy and professionalism when making deliveries.
  • Return paperwork, including payments, to the Ops Manager.
  • Maintain current drivers and forklift certifications, follow all HFP safety protocols.
  • Perform other duties, warehouse, loading or unloading trucks, housekeeping, as directed by the Ops Manager.
