Branch Team Leader
What do you enjoy most about your job? The diversity of customers. We work with a variety of skill level customers and it is our job to help educate them on finding the best products to fit their abilities. Working to figure out our market is a new story nearly every day. Just when you think you have reached a rung, something changes. There never is a time to stop and rest, challenges come at you each day.
Where were you born? Eastern Colorado a little town called Brush.
What is your favorite holiday and why? Thanksgiving. Looking at me, you can surmise I like the food. But it does give you a chance to pause and think of the things that we are grateful for; family, friends, living in a country where we are free to do and enjoy so many things. We can worship as we wish without fear of retribution. If we didn't have to put up with politicians, I would be really thankful. (Can I say that?)
Where have you traveled to that is different and unique? Would you go back? I've been to Indonesia, China, Canada, Mexico, Singapore, Mississippi, Austria, and Germany (actually all 50 states). Mississippi was very different and rivaled Houston for heat and humidity. I liked the cleanliness and how proper Singapore was. Indonesia was teeming with people living right on the river banks. I would go back to each place I've visited. I would love to go to New York and see some Broadway shows.
What is a goal you want to accomplish in the upcoming year? The first goal is to beat out Dallas branch on a monthly basis. I'm not sure if should have said that, but there I did. The second goal is to help my team recognize what a great opportunity they have working at Horizon here in Houston. There is business galore in Houston we just need to look for ways we can win new customers and increase what we sell to each of our existing customers, with the great customer service they offer. My every day goal is to act in an encouraging manner to people I come across every day. Not be concerned about me but to serve them and what their needs are.
