Yellow Birch
|
|
|
|
Betula Iutea.
With its off
white to light
tan sapwood and
golden brown
heartwood,
yellow birch
grows across the
Northern and
northern
Appalachian
region. It
represents less
than 5% of the
timber stand,
and lumber
production.
Birch is hard,
strong, and
heavy. It is a
close-grained
wood with an
indistinct grain
pattern. The
specie works
well; it is easy
to paint, stain,
and finish.
